The Nodes

Working on our Life Lessons can bring us a wonderful feeling, one of accomplishment and fulfillment. If wed fall back on the South Node energy, without working on our North Node, we may struggle to feel successful. Of course, the Nodes are affected by the House they are in, aspects etc., but for NOW, we will glance at the gist of each Nodal team.

Here is a brief synopsis of North/South Node energies. I highly recommend Jan Spiller’s book, Astrology for the Soul. It has 40-50 pages per Node and is a GREAT, insightful read.

The North Node is where the Moon crosses the ecliptic going toward the northern hemisphere, and the South Node is where the Moon crosses the ecliptic headed toward the southern hemisphere. The North Node and the South Node are always opposite one another. The Moon’s Nodes are almost always in retrograde, meaning they travel backwards through the Zodiac, so if your Nodes are Retrograde, that is no big deal. The Nodes make a complete circle through the 12 signs every 18 years.

North Node in Aries, South Node in Libra:
North Node in Aries represents an innate desire, a drive to own your own life and life it like you want to live it. The South Node in Libra represents a desire for the PERFECT relationship. The longing is so intense that the LIbran will often take on the personna of what they THINK the other wants. Wrong! All that will work is to live in authenticity, as a Libra, and own the power of being an individual. Then, when they have embraced the Aries confidence, the right relationship will come.

North Node in Taurus, South Node in Scorpio:
North Node in Taurus represents a need to explore your comfort zones, what feels good, what doesn’t, and how to have the most comfortable existance…mentally, physically and spiritually The South Node in Scorpio represents a longing for close bonding and connection at a deep level with another person.

North Node in Gemini, South Node in Sagittarius
If your North Node is in Gemini, you are like a butterfly, here to be a jack of all trades, to dabble, to explore, and connect with many people and try lots of different things. The South Node in Sagittarius is all about the need to have all the answers, sharing truth and wisdom, and “being right.”

North Node in Cancer, South Node in Capricorn
The South Node in Capricorn represents an enormous drive to succeed. Beware of the trap of measuring success by glitz, glitter and “stuff”. Your North Node in Cancer shows that the true measure of your success is emotional fulfillment…if you aren’t feeling safe and happy on the inside, you haven’t “made it.”

North Node in Leo, South Node in Aquarius
The South Node in Aquarius represents a strong urge to belong by fitting into a group. This will not fly at ALL for the Leo North Node, because Leo is a very creative sign, and will demand the spotlight….no wallflower Leo. .

North Node in Virgo, South Node in Pisces
The South Node in Pisces represents the need to delve into spiritual developments. You have a strong psychic and spiritual power. However, this power only works when you truly “get” the lesson of Virgo, taking care of yourself and others through active involvement with others.

North Node in Libra, South Node in Aries
The South Node in Aries represents a warrior spirit…all about winning at any cost. But Aries only wins BIG when Aries learns to play well with others by listening to that balanced, “fair no matter what” Libra.

North Node in Scorpio, South Node in Taurus
The South Node in Taurus is all about a tendency to attempt to do everything yourself. It can be hard to let go of possessions, for fear that you might need it someday. Following the Scorpio North Node path of sharing resources and responsibilities with other people, will help you achieve balance.

North Node in Sagittarius, South Node in Gemini
The South Node in Gemini indicates that you can really “overthink” decisions, beat ‘em to death so to speak. It is easy to lose your own point of view, as you lose track of what you are even thinking! Sagittarius North Node indicates that the greatest rewards for you are in trusting your intuition, and being open and honest about yourself and what you want. Visualizing the outcome, rather than relying on factual, logical information, works much better for you. You have the gift of manifestation— your beliefs create your reality.

North Node in Capricorn, South Node in Cancer
The South Node in Cancer indicates an intense desire to care for people, big shock Caretaker Cancer. Cancer’s “thing” is to hide behind taking care of other people and then having having to come out of that comfortable shell to take care of their own life. You are here to rediscover the thrill of achieving your goals. To do this you just HAVE to let other people live their own life…ok, gently cut the strings and breathe!

North Node in Aquarius, South Node in Leo
With South Node in Leo, ego drives are very powerful, as the Lion soul craves recognition and respect. The North Node in Aquarius brings in the energy of respect through working WITH others in a respectful manner, NOT being THE BOSS.

North Node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo
The South Node in Virgo is all about practicality and sense of order, and that infamous Virgo CONTROL. The North Node in Pisces begs that you let go of worry and just relax and hang out.
