Moving From a 3D to a 4D Consciousness
As we humans move into the Age of Aquarius, our consciousness is transforming from the 3D (density level) to 4D. One of the characteristics of 3D is separation, whether it be separation from the God-Source, from each other, or separating aspects of ourselves within ourselves. This idea of separation has been necessary in 3D to keep us in the 3D experience that we have each chosen. This is one of the experiences that Eckhart Tolle shared was the catalyst for his Awakening in The Power of Now. He could not “Live With Himself.” So, he asked, who was the HE that could not live with HIMSELF. Fascinating, isn’t it? This is the basis for all of Eckhart’s work and the basis for the shifts that we are all feeling RIGHT NOW!
At the time of his spiritual transformation, Tolle had just completed a degree in languages and history at the University of London, graduating with a first, yet he was anything but happy. “I’d done well because I was motivated by fear of not being good enough, so I worked very hard,” he says. With no plans for his future, he grew more depressed until, as he puts it, “I couldn’t live with myself any longer.” The phrase is a cliche, but in The Power of Now, Tolle describes being stopped dead by its implications: “If I cannot live with myself, there must be two of me: the ‘I’ and the ‘self’ that ‘I’ cannot live with. Maybe, I thought, only one of them is real. I was so stunned by this realisation that my mind stopped. I was conscious, but there were no more thoughts.”
When thinking later resumed, as Tolle tells it, things were different: he no longer identified with the “voice in my head” that was doing the thinking. Instead, he could observe his thoughts, as if from a distance. He could see that they somehow weren’t real: that the real him was the consciousness watching the thoughts, not the thoughts themselves. “There was a wonderful sense of peace,” he recalls now. “Not a desensitised peace - you can experience that if you take enough drugs, or drink enough. But a peace that was joyful, and alive, and very alert.”
As we move from the 3D into the 4D reality, we are moving from separation to integration. So, the ways of thinking that served us in the 3D world that we came into are no longer serving us in the 4D world we are moving into. We, that have accepted the task, taken the torch, of creating and thriving in the 4D world are serving as frontrunners in this new way of living.
So, of course, we will have a bit more of an uphill journey than if we were just following the status quo. You would not be taking this call if you were firmly living in the 3D world. The delicious dilemma is that we are still living in a 3D world while moving into, or maybe even living in a 4D reality!
Right now we are all feeling an acceleration, a yearning, a pull which we cannot ignore to move forward into this way of living and working. For some of us, it can be confusing, frustrating and almost maddening! That is how you know it is TIME! I say this with the greatest of empathy.
It is as if we are experiencing a “quickening”. I know, I know, that sounded a bit “Highlander” - I loved those movies. There is an intense sense of urgency that is compelling us to let go of the outdated ways of doing business, the old belief systems, to shed the internal scripts and patterns we have been living with until now. We are responsible for our own success, we are responsible for our own creations and we are responsible for what we manifest!
David Hawkins wrote in Power vs. Force, “By taking the responsibility for the consequences of his own perceptions, the observer can transcend the role of victim to an understanding that ‘nothing out there has power over you.’ It isn’t life’s events, but how one reacts to them and the attitude that one has about them, that determines whether such events have a positive or negative effect on one’s life, whether they’re experienced as opportunity or as stress.”
Many spiritual teachers and new age thinkers have also spoken about how our thoughts create our reality. Since the explosion of The Secret and Oprah’s embracing of her spirituality, the world will never be the same! Like it or not…The Secret opened the doors.
